Based on many years of experience in the mining industry as an Executive and Technical Professional Wayne Knott (Principal Consultant) has the skills to critically challenge assumptions and costs used in feasibility studies. This allows the board and management to have an independent view on the possible range of outcomes and risks associated with the feasibility study.
Wayne’s knowledge and insight into the appropriateness of corporate strategy and his previous experience in start-up operations enables him to review the suitability and adequacy of systems, processes and procedures to ensure ongoing sustainable, safe operations when transitioning from commissioning to operations.
Hands on experience in managing downsizing and cost optimisation processes allows Wayne to provide support to management and the board to ensure that these processes are conducted with due care and consideration for all stakeholders.
Wayne Knott – Principal Consultant is an experienced mining executive with more than 25 years’ experience in the resource sector. Wayne graduated from Technikon Witwatersrand in 1988 and joined Billiton as a Graduate Metallurgist. He completed a Management Development Diploma through the University of Durban Westville and a MBA through Deakin University. Wayne has held management positions in Technical and Operational roles across several commodities including Alumina, Mineral Sands, Copper and Gold. Wayne has worked internationally in countries including, South Africa, USA, PNG and Mozambique where he has gained valuable experience in establishing start-up companies in challenging environments as well as winding up mature companies that were no longer delivering value for shareholders. This wealth of experience as well as a solid theoretical background equips Wayne to provide a well-balanced consulting service. Wayne is a member of the AusIMM (Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy) and a member of the AICD (Australian Institute of Company Directors)
